Bitcoin and the like is a once in a generation type of opportunity.
Given that, I am a heavy investor, speculator, or gambler (whichever term you prefer) in its potential future.
“Number one rule of cryptocurrencies, Nobody… and I don’t care if you’re Warren Buffet or if you’re Jimmy Buffet. Nobody knows if a crypto is gonna go up, down, sideways, or in fucking circles. Least of all, me, right?”
Which makes it fun, addicting, and makes my boss want to murder his entire sales floor.
You know what happens when some crypto you’ve never heard about is up 359% on the day?
Yes, 359%. That’s a real return.
You get FOMO. Fear of missing out. Every “rational” fiber in your body is telling you, no SCREAMING at you to invest. Because it’s going to keep going up. It HAS to.
But it doesn’t. And it won’t. And it comes crashing back down to earth. Every single time.
Because you bought at the all time high, you feel like an idiot who made an extremely irrational, fear driven decision and is out far too much money.
Next time it won’t happen. Until it does. Because emotion > logic.
The same holds true for your body.
Come April and May, beach and summer ads are EVERYWHERE. And you know what has happened to all of us at least once?
We look down and see the nice pouch we’ve put on while we’ve been hibernating all winter and spring. 12 oz curls, pizza, and a whole lot of sloth can do some surprising damage.
SO WE FREAK THE FUCK OUT.
Google how to get shredded in 6 weeks (find our program if you’re lucky) and commence FOMO, AB edition.
And it doesn’t work.
Because there wasn’t nearly enough time to undo the damage of what transpired the last 6 months. And the thrill of being in disgustingly good shape during the summertime is gone.
There is another option.
In cryptocurrencies, it’s during your own research, identifying coins before they blow up, and profiting when the masses catch FOMO and help you profit even more.
With your body, it is making a deliberate plan and executing it. Day by day, month by month – starting when no one else is talking about the beach.
It will be hard, often feel irrational at times, and take a contrarian approach to accomplishing what everyone else FOMOs into.
The difference is you’ll be handsomely rewarded with an unbelievable summer because you choose to put in the work now.
Everyone has FOMO’d. The key is to have enough self awareness to learn, grow, and avoid it the next time. That’s the next level. In all things.
