When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.
In honor of Memorial Day, I felt it appropriate to share the poem by Tecumseh. For those of you that have seen Act of Valor, you will remember the poem at the conclusion of the movie. They are powerful words that have stood the test of time through generations. Thank a veteran today. Enjoy your friends and family and be grateful for the wonderful opportunity we all share to chase our dreams in the land of the free. And always remember that freedom isn’t free.
Let’s have a fantastic week. Here are some great reads to kickstart it:
UT Commencement Speech by U.S. Navy Admiral William H. McRaven – An unbelievable speech by one of the leaders in our military. What’s the most important step we can take to changing the world? Making your bed and after listening to Admiral McRaven speak, I wholeheartedly believe him. Remember, greatness is simply little things done well stacked on top of each other over and over again.
11 Productivity Hacks from Successful Entrepreneurs by Richard Feloni – In the race to the top, we’ve always looking to get an edge. The line between being successful and failing is so small that I urge you to take it upon yourself to use whatever hacks possible to make yourself that much better. Truth be told, I’ll start implementing about half of these right away.
67 Tips on Happiness, Fulfillment, and Life by Jason Ferruggia – It’s a must read. I’ve read this list three or four times over the past month or so and it’s so good that I think I’ll keep coming back to it in years to come.
My favorite: 62) Everyone wants to change the world. That doesn’t make you unique. Acting on that desire does.
7 Ways Great Leaders See the World Differently by Bill Murphy Jr – We’re here to build leaders at Show Me Strength. Wolves that are willing to lead the masses of sheep to greatness and prosperity to make a difference in the world of mediocrity we live in. To accomplish that, you must have a vision and see the world in a different light than others. Start here.
