Some great reads this week for your motivation. Many people will say that if you need words or examples of motivation, you aren’t going to be successful, since you aren’t inspired from within.
This couldn’t be further from the truth. It is human nature to thirst to thrive with the help of others who are doing outstanding things. It is important that we have role models and mentors who are where we want to be someday.
These examples can rest in the back of our mind as we let our own fire burn when in the midst of paving our own path.
Yes, motivation must come from within, but the ones who we are motivated by spark and help drive that inspired feeling.
Here are some good ones this week.
1. ) RE2PECT by Jordan Brand – Video – As baseball players in our first profession, Andrew, Matt, and I of Show Me Strength have all seen the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of the game. We have seen all kinds of players, but none who deserve quite as much admiration and respect as Derek Jeter. A model for a perfect teammate and leader, not to mention an ironman in a game where injuries and sub par play can send a talented player out real quick. This video gave me chills. He’s just the best.

2. ) Why Successful People Leave Their Loser Friends Behind by Brenton Weyi – It’s a really good lesson in life to go carefully observe someone super successful in any walk of life, and see who they not only surround themselves with, but interact with. Awesome people don’t have time for nonsense. They are so ultra focused in using their time efficiently, that any sense of negativity, and they are out the door, never to be seen again. Brenton Weyi hits the nail on the head in this one.
3. ) 8 Reasons You’re Still Weak or Fat by TC Louma – Andrew and I’s favorite writer, TC Louma, never fails to deliver great info, brutal truth, and interjections of hilarity. He knows, obviously, what it takes to get into unbelievable shape, and won’t sugar coat a damn thing. We love that. Here is another fantastic piece…Both motivating and information loaded.
