How to Build the Perfect Breakfast

Good ole breakfast.  The scapegoat and solution to every health problem known to mankind. Do your cholesterol levels suck?  You must be slacking on your Cheerio’s consumption.  Everyone knows that you need to have two enormous bowls to fuel your heart.  One just doesn’t cut it. Obese?  Better start hitting up the local Dunkin for […]

Respecting and caring for the vehicle you’ve been given is the ultimate form of love. Our bodies and minds are truly the culmination of how we’ve cared for ourselves up until this moment in time. I enjoyed this quote from the awesome @aubreymarcus. Can’t wait to dive into his new book, #owntheday here in the next few days. I’m fired up for a weekend of learning and catching up with a couple of the most prolific gym owners in the world. I’ve always said it’s important to always be improving in every aspect of your craft no matter what, and the business side of fitness is no different. This is surely to be a game changer for me. If you’re in the fitness field, but don’t know who these guys are, you’re way behind, however you can learn more here. _____________________________________________________________ Peter Dupuis (@pete_dupuis) - co-owner of Cressey Sports Performance in Boston, MA and Jupiter, FL- http://www.petedupuis.com/ _____________________________________________________________ Mark Fisher (@mfisherfitness) - owner of Mark Fisher Fitness in New York City - https://markfisherfitness.com/
Mindset shift _____________________________________________________________ I happen to work in fitness now, but this mindset state is one that I’ve observed amongst elite performers and successful people in other arenas of life. • Since the road to significant change and more lofty goals takes extreme work and time, it makes more sense to fall in love with the road. Losing 20lbs, training for a marathon, deadlifting 600lbs, putting on 10lbs of muscle, going from pancake to bubble butt, moving down 5 pant or dress sizes...all these goals are awesome and ones I’ve coached successfully, but they require the participant to play the long game. And in my experience, I’ve never seen someone come out successfully when incessantly worrying about the final destination. • Those who consistently do the best are those who let go of the stress of their final goal, and commit deeply to the road it takes to get there. Road trips to an awesome place are always more fun when the travel there is the best part. The same goes for your health and fitness goal. Just as any profession, its easy to separate yourself as a from the competition when you focus on improving upon these three qualities. • Since the barrier of entry is so low in regards to training as a job, it leaves lots of room at the top if you’re willing to put in the work. The work to constantly improve your craft..the work to provide another level of care and support to your students and clients....and the work to set the bar high as a positive, inspiring example in your community. This is what the best coaches in the world do every single day. • Our field needs more great and less mediocre. When you’re dealing with people’s well-being, it is simply unacceptable to be average.
